EducationI studied Cognitive Science and then Mathematics, as an undergraduate at the University of California at Berkeley. After scoring in the top 1% of Verbal score on both GMAT and GRE, I went travelling in South America, and afterwards began to teach GMAT, GRE, and SAT - while looking for the next challenge. Turned out, teaching was itself an exciting career.
ExperienceTest scores in the top 1% on both GMAT and GRE. 10 years of experience tutoring. Specialist in the verbal section of the GMAT.
What differentiates me as a tutor, is that I was never a 'natural' - neither in English nor in Math. I learned English as an immigrant to the United States, and Math from scratch at a community college. I actually was tutored in Calculus, and if not for that I would have surely flunked the class. But the 'beginner' background makes it easier for me to relate, and I think my students catch on quicker, because I just give the best techniques, starting organically from wherever the student is at.

HobbiesSince moving to the Netherlands, my favourite thing is just to cycle through the streets, enjoying the lovely ever-changing scenery. On winter days I watch movies and YouTube talks. Recently I found a guilty pleasure in surfing the Financial Times for grammar mistakes.
