Experience

Hi! My name is Andy and I have spent the last 7 years helping students pass their physics and maths exams (A level, GCSE, IBDP and MYDP). I have a PhD in physics and am a qualified teacher with a PGCE. I have worked in some of Europe's most prestigious international schools, including King's College Madrid, Kensington School, Colegio Brains and St George's School. I am an experienced and dynamic teacher with a commitment to helping students achieve their goals. I aim to not only help students pass their exams but to leave them with a love and understanding of the subject matter. I use real world mathematical and scientific examples to make the core concepts seems less abstract. Students should not be afraid of physics! Before becoming a teacher I worked as a professional physicist. I began my career as a research scientist at the university of Glasgow, where I won the JJ Thomson Experimental Prize for my work on atomic and nuclear physics. I then went on to work as a clinical scientist in two of London's largest hospitals. This experience has given me a comprehensive subject knowledge as well as a deep appreciation for the practical applications of physics. I enjoy sharing both of these with my students. If you need any support with your physics or maths, I am ready to help!
