Education
BSc Biomedical Science at University of Sheffield, 2.1. A levels in Biology (A), Mathematics (A), Chemistry (B) AS levels in Further Mathematics (B) and English Language/Literature (C). I am currently training to be a healthcare scientist.
Experience
I have not tutored professionally previously, but during my A levels I assisted in Biology and English classrooms from years 7-11, by keeping order and helping some of the children to understand certain concepts. During my time at university I worked with The British Red Cross assisting with teaching first aid to school children, some of which had learning difficulties of varying degrees. I also worked for the Disability and Dyslexia Support Service at the university to act as note taker in lectures or support worker for people with disabilities such as autism, which required 1:1 interaction. During my A levels, I worked at The Crossing Cafe, where disabled adults volunteered alongside us; I learned vital communication skills and compassion. I am passionate about teaching and would love to educate the next generation. I have experience of various learning difficulties and disabilities and am capable of teaching in such an environment. I currently work at an IVF unit and am a STEM ambassador, promoting science subjects in local schools.
