I have just finished undertaking an undergraduate Masters studying Human Genetics at University College London, having received a 1st class degree with honours. I am starting a PhD in Medical Genetics at King's College London. I am particularly keen on possible careers in research or teaching biology. The area of research that really excites me is the role of genetics in cancer and ageing.
Experience
I achieved 10 GCSEs, all at grade A or A*. I attained the following additional qualifications: AS levels: Biology (A), English Literature (A), Maths (A), Physics (A) and Psychology (A). A levels: Biology (A*), English (A) and Maths (A*). Free Standing Mathematical Qualification (B). Pass in an Open University undergraduate module in Astronomy (YASS). ASDAN award - Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) Level 3 Sports Leadership qualification. My relevant experience includes: 2009 – 2015: Library assistant, sometimes help out with the homework help club. 2012 – 2013: Secretary for the UCL Biology Society – involved organising events, seminars and inter-society gatherings to bring students from diverse backgrounds together 2012 – 2013: Biochemistry Tutor hired by UCL to assist first year students in their modules and exams. I enjoy teaching and my subject and since graduating and before I start my PhD I would like to tutor in my free time (and continue once I start but not during the weekdays). Willing to teach maths up to GCSE level. Willing to teach biology up to Undergraduate level.
