Hello! My name is Kate, I'm a recent Cambridge graduate from Northern Ireland. I graduated in 2015 with a BA in Modern and Medieval Languages from St John's College, University of Cambridge, where my speciality was French literature and cinema. I spent my Year Abroad in Paris, where I worked in an art gallery in the Marais. Following another year living in Paris, I started my Master's in Film and Screen Studies at the University of Cambridge, in the Modern and Medieval Languages faculty. I was awarded a distinction, and graduated in July 2017. I'm currently working for a startup in London that helps to support independent bricks-and-mortar boutiques.
Experience
I have been tutoring students for the past six years in both English and French, the former being my native tongue and the latter my speciality language in my Cambridge undergrad. Aside from French, I have learnt German, Spanish, and Italian at various points of my life - simply put, I love languages! As a keen language learner, I find the process of language acquisition fascinating, and enjoy working to the strengths of each individual pupil to ensure optimum results. I also offer tutoring in art history, essay writing, and creative writing, as well as intensive sessions for work on dissertations and theses. I can provide proofreading and editing services for any form of writing, including novels, poetry, CVs, business pitches, and marketing tools. For any students considering Oxbridge applications, I am also happy to help with interview preparation. I have worked with students in the past to write personal statements, fill in SAQs and do mock interviews, and though my speciality is languages, I have also helped students applying to English, History, History of Art, and Philosophy.

Hobbies
My interests are focused mainly on the arts, including but not limited to literature, poetry, visual art, and cinema. I love to draw and paint in my spare time, and during the two years I spent living in Paris I spent most of my time wandering around museums and galleries, particularly those exhibiting modern art (a real passion of mine!) I also love to travel. I am from a small town in Ireland, and have lived in both mainland UK and France for several years. I have been fortunate enough to vacation all over the world, and am always eager to learn more about other cultures.
