I've studied print, web and broadcast journalism. I have an MA in the field of International Relations and Diplomacy. I am certified as an Investigative Journalist. I am a columnist for the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network and Foreign Policy Journal.
Experience
For eight years I worked throughout the Middle East and Africa for various European and US News Magazines. My work has been published in various media including Der Spiegel, Die Welt, The New York Times, TIME, Paris Match and Le Monde etc. I have experience also of lecturing and teaching the subject of documentary photography. Recently I have put together my syllabus on how to use photography as an effective tool for social activism, and taught the same to adult students in the UK. »Vedat Xhymshiti delivery was very articulate and engaging. His background of photojournalism has taken him to many war-torn areas around the world. Let’s face it - his job is not something for the fainthearted. His background immediately became apparent. This was one hell of a serious workshop.« - Dilip Sinah, workshop attendee at Llyfrgell Maindee Library, Newport [south Wales].
